Social Psychology

Social Psychology at USW incorporates several strands of research; predominantly around communication processes and social identities. Our focus is on applying social psychology to real-world problems and we have completed work on identity processes and elective group identification, online and offline communication and deception.

Developmental Psychology

Developmental Psychology covers development across the whole of the lifespan and as such is closely allied with other key areas of research such as Play and Play Therapy, health behavior in specific age groups, etc. Research in Developmental Psychology ranges from research on children’s reading and spelling through to changes in intellectual functioning in old age. Members of the Department have published widely in these areas.

Behaviour analysis involves the scientific study of the complex relationships between behaviour and environment across a range of settings and populations. The Behaviour Analysis Research Group at the University of South Wales employ this science with an aim toward improving the lives of individuals with challenging behaviour and those that support them.
